The Red Bulls II’s dynamic duo of Tom Barlow and Jared Stroud earned the visitors victory in a seven-goal thriller that bolstered their place in the top three of the Eastern Conference.

CHESTER, Pa. – Jared Stroud and Tom Barlow both notched a pair of goals as the Red Bulls II rallied from a two-goal deficit with half-an-hour to go to defeat Steel FC at Talen Energy Stadium. Barlow almost put the Red Bulls II in the 14th minute as his toe-poked finish under pressure past the advancing goalkeeper dribbled just wide of the right post, but a minute later he notched his ninth goal of the season when he outpaced his marker to a chipped through-ball by Marcus Epps that allowed him to slide a low finish home. Steel FC leveled in the 23rd minute, however, as Faris cut past a defender inside the penalty area and finished calmly for his sixth goal of the season. Epps nearly restored New York’s lead six minutes later only for his volleyed finish to ring off the underside of the crossbar and out, but Steel FC struck 17 seconds into the second half as Issa Rayyan fired a low shot into the bottom-left corner from 20 yards out to put his side ahead. Rayyan scored his second of the night in the 58th minute after Anthony Fontana was played in behind the defense, and after a sequence of shots by the hosts were blocked a rebound fell to Rayyan for a low finish to the right corner. But the Red Bulls II pulled a goal back with 15 minutes to go as Stroud marked his 50th appearance for the club with a low finish from the left side of the penalty area, and then Barlow notched his second goal of the night with eight minutes remaining as he again got in behind the Steel FC defense. Stroud then completed the comeback in the 88th minute as he slotted home Barlow’s low cross from the left side of the penalty area, and that proved the winner in a big comeback victory for the visitors.
