PORTLAND, Ore. – 1868 FC battled back from a goal down to take victory over the Timbers 2 at Providence Park. Brayan Hurtado signaled the hosts’ attacking intent in the 11th minute with a long-range shot that forced a save out of 1868 FC goalkeeper JT Marcinkowski and the T2 midfielder was celebrating the game’s opening goal just three minutes later when he slipped behind the Reno defense and slotted a left-footed effort into the bottom-left corner. Portland continued to threaten in the early going as Giovanni Calixtro forced another save out of Marcinkowski in the 20th minute, before Seth Casiple provided Reno’s best opportunity of the first half with a 37th-minute free kick that was well saved by T2 goalkeeper Jake Leeker. Casiple turned provider on the hour-mark when he whipped in a delicious cross from the right wing and picked out Daniel Musovski, who headed past Leeker from six yards out to level the contest. Reno took the lead just two minutes later when Casiple stood over another free kick, but this time produced the perfect amount of power and elevation to curl his strike past Leeker and into the top-right corner. Musovski had a great chance to double his tally and put the game on ice in the 75th minute, but Leeker did well to make himself big and keep out the forward’s first-time finish. Marcinkowski made one more key intervention, sticking out a leg to deny Hurtado’s dangers cross-shot as Reno held on for an impressive road win.

San Antonio started the second half brightly as Billy Forbes cut inside from the right and tested Ketterer with a low left-footed shot in the 52nd minute, but the hosts were reduced to 10 men just 11 minutes later when Barmby picked up his second yellow card for simulation. El Paso tried to use its newfound advantage to push for a winner but Josué Gómez’s left-footed effort from outside the box sailed over the crossbar and Cardone did well to come off his line and smother Derek Gebhard’s shot in the 90th minute. Cristian Parano had one last opportunity for the hosts four minutes into stoppage time, but the 19-year-old’s left-footed shot just missed the target as the two sides picked up a point apiece.
