Perfect looping volley from Musa’s long-range assist took top spot in weekly poll

TAMPA, Fla. – Phoenix Rising FC forward Adam Jahn has earned the USL Championship Fans’ Choice Goal of the Week for Week 14 of the 2019 season for his brilliant volleyed finish that opened the scoring in Rising FC’s victory against Tulsa Roughnecks FC last Friday night.

Nominated for May’s Player of the Month award in the Championship, Jahn continued his hot run of form against the Roughnecks in Rising FC’s first game in June. Thirteen minutes into the contest, New Zealand international James Musa sent a beautiful angled pass from 20 yards inside Phoenix’s half that Jahn ran under in the right channel before providing a perfect volleyed finish just inside the penalty area that looped over the goalkeeper and into the net.

Jahn’s goal earned 53 percent of the poll conducted online at USLChampionship.com that concluded on Thursday lunchtime. Loudoun United FC’s Griffin Yow finished second on 39 percent for a tremendous shot from 25 yards that picked out the top-right corner of the net against Louisville City FC, while Real Monarchs SLC’s Noah Powder took third for his precisely directed free kick into the top-right corner that sealed Real’s victory against Rio Grande Valley FC.
