TAMPA, Fla. – Charleston Battery goalkeeper Joe Kuzminsky has earned the USL Championship Fans’ Choice Save of the Week for Week 13 of the 2019 season as his standout stop against Louisville City FC last Saturday night at Slugger Field earned him top spot in the weekly poll.
Ever-present in the league this season for the Battery, the 25-year-old has continued to come into his own in his first full season as Charleston’s No. 1. Against LouCity, Kuzminsky showed off his shot-stopping abilities as he went hard to his right to keep out a fine long-range effort by Jamaican international Speedy Williams.
Kuzminsky’s save earned 39 percent of the poll conducted online at USLChampionship.com that concluded on Friday morning. The Charlotte Independence’s Curtis Anderson finished second on 32 percent for his penalty-kick save on Ottawa Fury FC’s Wal Fall last Sunday, while OKC Energy FC’s Cody Laurendi finished third on 15 percent for his one-handed reflex stop against the LA Galaxy II last Saturday.
