CARSON, Calif. – The LA Galaxy II announced on Monday they had signed midfielder Iván Gutiérrez, pending league and federation approval and receipt of his ITC. Gutiérrez joins Los Dos from Liga MX club Chivas Guadalajara where he played for Guadalajara Premier and the Chivas Guadalajara Fuerzas Básicas Sub-20 teams.
“Iván is a dynamic attacking player who we think will be a valuable addition to LA Galaxy II,” said Galaxy General Manager Dennis te Kloese. “We are excited for Iván to join our roster and we look forward to further developing him as a player.”
Since signing with Chivas Guadalajara in 2016, Gutiérrez has made 33 appearances with Guadalajara Premier, the club’s reserve team. The Norwalk, Calif., native has also made 17 appearances with Chivas Guadalajara Fuerzas Básicas Sub 20 team. With both teams, Gutiérrez has scored 10 goals for the club.
Prior to his professional debut, Gutiérrez played five seasons with the Chivas USA Academy, featuring for the U-15, U-16, U-17 and U-18 teams.
Internationally, Gutiérrez has featured for the Mexican Youth National Team, including a trip to the Concacaf U-17 Championship in 2015, where he made two appearances.
