Third Kit Inspired by Sacramento City Flag features iconic symbols from the Indomitable City

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Since the club’s launch in 2013, Sacramento Republic FC has paid tribute to its home city.

On Thursday, the USL Championship side continued that tradition with the unveiling of its official third jersey for the 2019 season. Featuring iconic symbols of the Indomitable City threaded throughout the jersey in a modern print, the “City Kit” is now available and can be purchased at Republic FC’s new team store in Midtown and online via the club’s website.

“We wanted to take a fresh approach to the design and create something that was not only exciting, but also steeped in city and club DNA,” said Allison Yee-Garcia, Republic FC VP of Marketing. “We drew inspiration from the city flag and some of the most iconic symbols in our club’s identity and that led us to a design that lets fans proudly wear their city on their sleeves.”

Produced by Nike, the City Kit draws its colors directly from the official Sacramento city flag, its blue two-tone design represents the convergence of the American and Sacramento rivers. The flag itself is patched onto the jersey’s sleeve, a nod to the visible pride Sacramentans take in their city. Adorning the face of the jersey is a repeating pattern of iconic Sacramento symbols—the Tower Bridge, five-point star, California grizzly bear and city motto, Urbs Indomita.

Matched with navy blue shorts and light blue socks, the City Kit will be worn by Republic FC during select home matches this season, including the club’s upcoming clash against San Antonio FC on June 1. The third kit is also being launched with a corresponding ‘City’ merchandise collection that includes a men’s t-shirt and women’s tank top with the City Kit print, along with a hats featuring a design comprised of the City pattern.
