TAMPA, Fla. – Tacoma Defiance forward Justin Dhillon has taken the USL Championship Fans’ Choice Goal of the Week for Week 11 of the 2019 season for his record-setting goal last Saturday night against Reno 1868 FC at Cheney Stadium.
Dhillon became the new holder of the fastest goal in USL Championship history as he opened the scoring after just nine seconds against 1868 FC. After taking the opening kickoff, Dhillon and his teammates swept through Reno’s midfield to open space for Azriel Gonzalez’s cross from the left that found Dhillon perfectly for a flicked header into the bottom-right corner of the net.
Dhilllon’s goal earned 38 percent of the poll conducted online at USLChampionship.com that concluded on Thursday lunchtime. El Paso Locomotive FC’s Jerome Kiesewetter took second place with 24 percent for his close-range volley with the outside of his boot against Sacramento Republic FC at Southwest University Park last Saturday night, while Phoenix Rising FC’s Solomon Asante took third with 23 percent for his close-range tally that finished off a beautiful passing move against Las Vegas Lights FC at Casino Arizona Field.
