LOUDOUN UNITED FC (3) VS BETHLEHEM STEEL FC (3)

WASHINGTON, D.C.– Loudoun United FC stole the show in their home opener with a late goal to earn a draw against Bethlehem Steel FC to kick off Championship action in Week 9. Steel FC started the stronger of the two sides and would build on a positive start by scoring two goals in two minutes, both courtesy of forward Michee Ngalina, just after the half-hour mark. Not despondent, Loudoun would respond quickly with an incredibly individual goal from forward Kyle Murphy in in the 37th minute. Murphy would double his tally in the 49th minute to notch things up at two apiece, with Loudoun countering and Murphy producing a calm finish at the far post. Taking the lead once more, though, Steel FC found an advantage thanks to a cool penalty from Faris Pemi Moumbagna just after the hour mark. However, Loudoun would continue to press deep into stoppage time and found their winner via midfielder Orlando Sinclair in the final minute of stoppage time to earn a point in the home opener.
