Four consecutive victories have swept Indy into the top three with games in hand on their fellow contenders for top spot.
2 Tampa Bay Rowdies
Week 7: --
Week 8: @ATL, CLT
Last Week: 1
The Rowdies got the weekend off before a two-game set this week that both look winnable on paper, away at ATL UTD 2 and at home to the Independence.
3 Saint Louis FC
Week 7: T, 0-0 @PIT
Week 8: SPR

Last Week: 3
A scoreless draw with Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC didn’t provide many thrills, but it ends up a perfectly adequate point on the road.
4 Portland Timbers 2
Week 7: T, 2-2 COS
Week 8: @NM
Last Week: 8
Edged into sole possession of first place thanks to Foster Langsdorf’s brace against the Switchbacks, Friday’s visit to New Mexico could be a treat.
5 North Carolina FC
Week 7: W, 3-0 @CLT
Week 8: HFD
Last Week: 10
A fourth consecutive league win against the Independence should get things back on track for Head Coach Dave Sarachan’s side.
6 Charleston Battery
Week 7: W, 3-1 NSH
Week 8: @MEM
Last Week: 13
Defeating Nashville in a signature home performance for the Battery was all kinds of impressive.
7 Phoenix Rising FC
Week 7: L, 0-1 @AUS, W, 4-0 TAC
Week 8: @SAC
Last Week: 4
Phoenix’s midweek defeat in Austin wasn’t pretty. It’s response against Tacoma showed off the firepower Rising FC possesses.
8 Nashville SC
Week 7: L, 1-3 @CHS
Week 8: @PIT
Last Week: 2
NSC got its first big test since a visit to New York last month against Charleston and came up wanting against the Battery.
9 New York Red Bulls II
Week 7: W, 4-0 HFD, L, 1-3 LDN
Week 8: IND
Last Week: 5
New York looked poised for top spot in the East after its early goal against Loudoun United. Instead, a stunning 3-1 loss broke its recent run of form.
10 Sacramento Republic FC
Week 7: --
Week 8: PHX
Last Week: 9
Republic FC won’t have been too disappointed by the results this past weekend as it prepares to host Rising FC in a marquee contest.
11 Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC
Week 7: T, 0-0 STL
Week 8: NSH

Last Week: 11
The Hounds’ draw with Saint Louis it wasn’t one long for the memory, but Pittsburgh’s undefeated streak is now at five.
12 Fresno FC
Week 7: --
Week 8: OC

Last Week: 12
The Foxes got a week off before an important Friday night-clash with Orange County.
13 Reno 1868 FC
Week 7: W, 2-1 NM
Week 8: @ELP

Back-to-back victories have 1868 FC up into the top three after an outstanding second-half display against New Mexico United.
14 New Mexico United
Week 7: L, 1-2 @RNO
Week 8: POR
Last Week: 6
The undefeated run was going to end at some point, but NMU can take top spot in front of its home crowd when Portland visits on Friday.
15 Louisville City FC
Week 7: W, 1-0 OTT
Week 8: --

Last Week: 15
There’s more room for optimism that the attack is coming around after a win against Ottawa that LouCity really needed to earn on home turf.
16 Real Monarchs SLC
Week 7: W, 3-2 SA
Week 8: @AUS

Last Week: 16
The Monarchs made a great comeback victory against San Antonio, but now it’s off on the road again to Austin where life has not been easy.
17 OKC Energy FC
Week 7: W, 1-0 OC
Week 8: @TUL
Last Week: 21
It might have needed a few breaks to go Energy FC’s way, but Saturday’s win against Orange County got things moving in the right direction for OKC.
18 Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC
Week 7: T, 2-2 @POR
Week 8: @TUL
Last Week: 20
The Switchbacks were left to rue their inability to hold a lead against Portland, but a point at Merlo Field isn’t bad.
19 Austin Bold FC
Week 7: W, 1-0 PHX, T, 0-0 ELP
Week 8: SLC
Last Week: 27
It’s tight, cagey stuff from Bold FC, but four points from outings against Phoenix and El Paso is a solid return from the week.
20 Orange County SC
Week 7: L, 0-1 @OKC
Week 8: @FRS
Last Week: 14
OCSC might feel itself a little unlucky not to have come away with something from its trip to OKC but will need to pick itself back up quickly as it heads to Fresno.
21 Rio Grande Valley FC
Week 7: W, 5-2 LV
Week 8: @LA
Last Week: 30
The Toros have back-to-back wins under their belt after a five-goal display against Lights FC and will carry that into a midweek clash with LA.
22 Birmingham Legion FC
Week 7: T, 0-0 SPR
Week 8: LDN

Last Week: 22
Legion FC is still looking for its first home goal after a frustrating outing against Swope Park. Will it arrive this Saturday against Loudoun United?

United gets its big midweek test against the Rowdies on Wednesday night after back-to-back victories.
24 Bethlehem Steel FC
Week 7: L, 1-2 @CLT, L, 0-3 IND
Week 8: --
Last Week: 18
Steel FC is still in the East’s playoff positions, but back-to-back losses to Charlotte and Indy were not performances to write home about.
25 San Antonio FC
Week 7: L, 2-3 @SLC
Week 8: TAC
Last Week: 19
Everything went right for SAFC early against the Monarchs but the pressure by the hosts proved too much in the end. A visit from Tacoma should help the side rebound.
26 Ottawa Fury FC
Week 7: L, 0-1 @LOU
Week 8: ATL
Last Week: 23
Thomas Meilleur-Giguere’s big chance late to equalize fell by the wayside and left Ottawa with a disappointing defeat in Louisville.
27 El Paso Locomotive FC
Week 7: T, 0-0 @AUS
Week 8: RNO
Last Week: 26
Back-to-back games without a goal, and only two official efforts on target against Austin are not inspiring confidence right now.
28 Las Vegas Lights FC
Week 7: L, 2-5 @RGV
Week 8: --
Last Week: 24
Las Vegas can’t shake its Jeckyll and Hyde performances at home and on the road after a heavy away defeat to Rio Grande Valley.

Week 8: COS, OKC
Last Week: 29
The Roughnecks have been eagerly anticipating their first meeting with Energy FC this season. This Saturday they’ll show us what they’ve got.
31 Loudoun United FC
Week 7: W, 3-1 @NY
Week 8: @BHM
Last Week: 34
Loudoun got its reward for a strong display on the road against New York that gave Head Coach Richie Williams bragging rights for now over former teammate John Wolyniec.
32 Swope Park Rangers
Week 7: L, 1-3 IND, T, 0-0 @BHM
Week 8: @STL
Last Week: 31
The Rangers rebounded decently with a road point in Birmingham but are still looking for that first win of the season.
33 Memphis 901 FC
Week 7: --
Week 8: CHS
Last Week: 32
Without a game of their own, 901 FC fans will have thoroughly enjoyed seeing Nashville get put through the wringer in Charleston.
34 Charlotte Independence
Week 7: W, 2-1 BST, L, 0-3 NC
Week 8: @TBR
Last Week: 33
A first victory was a positive step forward, but the Independence still can’t break North Carolina’s hoodoo over them.
35 Tacoma Defiance
Week 7: L, 0-4 @PHX
Week 8: @SA

Last Week: 35
Sounders FC’s U-17s became the first U.S. side to win the top division of the GA Cup on Sunday. Can they bring that success into the Championship level?
36 Hartford Athletic
Week 7: L, 0-4 @NY
Week 8: @NC

Last Week: 36
The good news for Hartford is Saturday marks the end of their season-opening road trip. The bad news is North Carolina appears to have found form again.
