TAMPA, Fla. – New Mexico United midfielder Santi Moar has earned the USL Championship Fans’ Choice Goal of the Month for March of the 2019 season as his curling finish in Week 2 against Phoenix Rising FC at Casino Arizona Field took top spot in the online poll conducted over the past weekend.

One of United’s marquee arrivals for its inaugural season, Moar hit the ground running for the expansion club with four goals in the opening month of the season. His first goal in United colors arrived in the 16th minute of New Mexico’s first road game of the season as he picked up possession on the left side of the penalty area, cut inside to his right foot and sent a perfectly-placed finish into the right corner of the net.

Moar’s goal earned 50 percent of the poll conducted online at USLChampionship.com that concluded on Monday. Dairon Asprilla’s bicycle-kick finish for the Portland Timbers 2 against Las Vegas Lights FC finished in second place with 22 percent, while Tommy McCabe’s blistering volley for North Carolina FC against the Charleston Battery took third on 13 percent.
