TAMPA, Fla. – The USL Championship announced on Thursday the five nominees for the USL Championship Player of the Month award for March, with top performers from the past month of the 2019 season selected for the ballot.

Voting in the USL Player of the Month Award will be conducted by the following three voting bodies:

  • A fan vote on USLChampionship.com will comprise 51 percent of the poll. The fan vote will run through Monday, April 8 at 12 p.m. ET.
  • The USL Technical Committee’s ballots comprise 25 percent of the poll.
  • The USL National Media Panel’s ballots comprise 24 percent of the poll.

The award winner and complete voting results will be announced on Thursday, April 11.

Please note: The USL Championship Player of the Month selections process in no way is tied directly to the voting and selection process of End of the Year awards such as USL Championship Most Valuable Player or position players of the year.

2019 USL Championship Player of the Month Nominees – March

Brian Brown, Reno 1868 FC – The Jamaican international picked up where he left off last season with four goals and one assist in three appearances for 1868 FC.

Cameron Iwasa, Sacramento Republic FC – Republic FC’s all-time leading scorer had four goals and one assist in three appearances to lead Sacramento to a strong start to the new season.

Luca Lobo, Tulsa Roughnecks FC – Lobo scored five goals and added one assist to help the Roughnecks match their win total from the 2018 regular season in the opening month of 2019.

Santi Moar, New Mexico United – Moar led the expansion side with four goals in five games as New Mexico ran through the first month of its inaugural season undefeated.

David Ochoa, Real Monarchs SLC – The U.S. U-20 international tied for the league-lead with 20 saves over the month as he recorded two shutouts, a 90.9 save percentage and a 0.5 goals-against average.
