MEMPHIS, Tennessee – Memphis 901 FC travels to Southeast Pennsylvania looking for its first three points of the season as it takes on Bethlehem Steel FC.

While the club achieved historic marks in Week 2 with a 1-1 draw against Loudoun United FC, that’s all in the rear-view mirror.

Coach Tim Mulqueen and his squad have another formidable Eastern Conference opponent Sunday night in Chester.

Here are three things to watch for this marquee matchup:

Finished Chances

Memphis players could breath a sigh of relief following the first goal in club history. 901 FC came close several times in Week 1 against Tampa Bay and finally put one in the back of the net to earn a point Saturday. Elliot Collier’s historic goal crossed an item off the list, but many felt there were more goals left on the field. Can Memphis, one of the top clubs in the USL Championship when it comes to passing, convert more opportunities against Bethlehem?

Steel Starters

This will be the second of three-straight opponents for Memphis tied to a Major League Soccer squad. Bethlehem has an official affiliation with MLS’s Philadelphia Union. That means players can go up and down between weeks. Could players from the Union have an impact on the match? One of the Steel’s two scorers early on this season, Kacper Przybylko, scored while on loan from the Union in Week 1 against Birmingham. It'll be interesting to see who lines up for the Steel on Sunday.

Keep it Clean

Memphis goalkeeper Jeff Caldwell has been nothing short of fantastic in his first two matches as a pro. Caldwell kept a clean sheet in open play in Week 1 against Tampa, allowing just one goal off an early penalty. His only goal in open play came against Loudoun United FC in Week 2 off an unlucky deflection. Other than those two goals, Caldwell has kept Memphis in matches early this season. He has three critical saves through two matches and will be looking to blank a Bethlehem squad that’ll be looking for its first point at home since October 2018.
