LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Ahead of this Saturday’s final home opener at Slugger Field, two-time defending USL Cup champion Louisville City FC revealed on Wednesday what fans will have to look forward to in approximately 12 months with an incredible virtual tour of the club’s soccer-specific stadium that is currently under construction in the Butchertown neighborhood.

Make sure your sound is up. You’re going to want to take it all in.

Under the guidance of local construction firms Messer and Harmon, the new venue is anticipated to have a total capacity of 14,000 including standing room sections above the 11,700-seat plan. The stadium is the centerpiece of a 40-acre, $200 million mixed-use development adjacent to Louisville's Waterfront Park near downtown.

Construction on the project is now visible, with steel beams that will form the basis for the main grandstands having been erected over the past month. Additionally, placement of concrete for the lower seating areas is underway as is the installation of the foundations for the locker rooms, club and mechanical rooms and all the restrooms.

LouCity plays host to Hartford Athletic this Saturday night at 7 p.m. ET with the side looking to build off its first win of the 2019 USL Championship regular season last Friday night against ATL UTD 2.
