Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC (0-1-0) looks to get into the win column with a matchup against the Swope Park Rangers (0-1-0) at 5 p.m. on Saturday at Children’s Mercy Park. This will be the first-ever meeting between the two teams, as Swope Park played in USL Championship’s Western Conference until this season. The game will be televised on Pittsburgh's CW.

Road Warriors

The trip to Kansas City, Kansas will be the second of four consecutive road games for Riverhounds SC. In 2018, the Hounds managed a 6-3-7 road record. Although Children’s Mercy Park proved to be a tough place for opposing teams to play last season, as Swope Park finished with an impressive 10-4-3 record at home.

Hungry Hounds

After being held without a shot on goal in their season opener, the Black and Gold will be looking to cash in on their opportunities this week. Neco Brett, Anthony Velarde and Thomas Vancaeyezeele all managed to get a shot off in the loss, but were unable to place them on frame. Defenders Jordan Dover and Joe Greenspan met the same result on their lone shot attempts of the night.

In its first match of the season, Pittsburgh won 58.3 percent of aerial duels in the contest. Swope Park struggled to win the battles of the head, winning just 42.9 percent of aerial duel opportunities in its only match of the season.

By the Numbers: 50

Midfielder Kenardo Forbes is just two points shy of reaching the 50-point mark in his USL Championship career.

Key to Victory: Fire Away

The Rangers allowed three goals on 15 takes on target in their first game of the season. If the Hounds’ attack can take advantage of Swope Park’s backline, they should be able to find success on the offensive side of the field with additional scoring chances.
