Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC loan addition Cesar Romero scored twice in the Concacaf U-20 Championship last fall to help his country reach the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup this May.
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC announced on Sunday it had acquired Honduras U-20 international Cesar Romero on a season-long loan from F.C. Motagua. The loan agreement is pending league and federation approval.
“We are excited to acquire a young player with so much potential,” said Switchbacks Team General Manager, Brian Crookham. “Cesar is a talented striker who has shown the ability to be a constant threat in the final third. His ability to create off the dribble and movement through the box will give us another game-changing option up front.”
Romero joins the Switchbacks after competing for Motagua in the Liga Nacional, Honduras' top division. The 20-year-old striker recorded two goals and one assist in five appearances for the Honduras U-20 National Team last fall as he helped the side advance to the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland this May.
