Key Notes and Stats from Saturday's Match

San Antonio FC lost just their ninth home match in team history in the USL Championship regular season, falling 1-3 to the Timbers 2. Below are key notes from the 90 minutes.

These are The Notables:

The Big 50

  • Tonight’s match marked the 50th game for San Antonio FC in regular season play at Toyota Field since the club’s inception in 2016. Despite tonight’s loss, SAFC has been defeated just nine times in regular season games over the last three-plus seasons, compiling a 25-9-16 overall record.

From Friend to Foe

  • San Antonio FC midfielder Jack Barmby scored the lone goal for SAFC via a penalty kick in the first half of tonight’s match. The goal marks the first for Barmby on the season, which came against his former club in the Portland Timbers 2, where he split time between them and their MLS affiliate from 2016-18. The strike was Barmby’s first since Sept. 22, 2018 at Fresno while he was with the Timbers 2.

Rare Occurrence

  • For just the first time in club history, SAFC conceded three goals in back-to-back regular season matches after the 3-3 draw with Phoenix on opening night, and tonight’s 1-3 loss to the Timbers 2. In all, SAFC gave up three goals in just five matches over the course of the 2018 season.
