EDINBURG, Texas (March 15, 2019) — Rio Grande Valley FC forwards Maalique Foster (Jamaica) and Michael Salazar (Belize) have been called up to their National Teams for their upcoming international friendly matches.

Foster has earned three caps for the Jamaican national team, scoring on his international debut against South Korea on Jan. 30, 2018. Jamaica will play El Salvador on March 23 in El Salvador and Costa Rica on March 26 in Costa Rica.

Foster was signed by RGV prior to the 2019 season and spent part of the preseason training with the Dynamo First Team. The 22-year-old made his RGV debut last weekend at Tacoma and played all 90 minutes.

Salazar has made 10 appearances for the Belize National Team from 2013-17, including representing his country in the 2015 and 2017 Concacaf Gold Cup tournaments. He has also appeared in two matches for the Belize U-20 Youth National Team in 2011. Belize will play Guyana on March 23 in Guyana.

Salazar was signed by RGV earlier this week and brings experience in both Major League Soccer and the USL Championship to the club. He will be available for selection on Saturday night in the Toros’ home opener against Fresno FC.
