Red Bulls II welcome two newcomers to squad; Orange County inks former U.S. U-17 international Coleman

TACOMA, Wash. – Tacoma Defiance bolstered its attack on Friday with the signing of forward Justin Dhillon. The 23-year-old has appeared in 39 career USL Championship games and has recorded nine goals and two assists.

“Justin will bring some additional experience to our young forward group,” said Sounders FC Director of Player Development Marc Nicholls. “He is a proven USL player that can produce for us while providing some guidance for our younger players.”

Dhillon appeared in 18 games for the Championship’s LA Galaxy II in 2018, including seven starts, and netted three goals while recording 17 total shots and 10 shots on target. He started 13 of his 21 contests for the Galaxy II in 2017, his first professional season, scoring six goals and adding two assists while firing 32 shots, including 16 on goal.

Prior to joining Los Dos, Dhillon appeared in 73 games in four seasons at Cal Poly University and recorded 15 goals and 12 assists. As a senior in 2016, he started all 17 games for the Mustangs and posted seven goals and two assists.

RED BULLS II ADD DUO: The New York Red Bulls II announced they had signed defender Janos Loebe to a USL Championship contract and acquired forward Amarildo de Souza on loan from Red Bull Brasil pending league and federation approval. Both signings are pending league and federation approval and receipt of P-1 visas.

Loebe was named the Atlantic-10 Offensive Player of the Year twice in his four-year career at Fordham University. The Rams midfielder tallied 31 assists, which is second on the all-time list at Fordham, trailing only New York Red Bulls II Head Coach John Wolyniec. The Kierspe, Germany native was the A-10 Rookie of the Year back in 2015. Loebe featured for the Red Bulls U23 team in 2018 and was ranked No. 8 on the USL League Two Top Prospect List. He was selected No. 22 overall by the Red Bulls in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft.

Souza has appeared in three matches across all competitions in Brazil. He made his first team debut with Red Bull Brasil last season against Noroeste. He attended and participated in the New York Red Bulls second preseason trip in Tucson, Ariz.

ORANGE COUNTY SIGNS COLEMAN: Orange County SC announced on Friday it had signed young American forward Kevin Coleman. The signing is pending league and federation approval.

Coleman joins the club following three years in Germany. A former member of the United States U-17 National Team, Coleman spent two years with F.C. Kaiserslautern’s U-19 side, before moving to SpVgg Bayreuth of the Regionalliga league.

“I’m happy that we were able to sign Kevin,” said OCSC Head Coach Braeden Cloutier. “He came to us in preseason and made an immediate impact with his pace and ability to score goals.”

A native of Warrenton, Va. the 21-year-old Coleman said he was excited to return to the United States with Orange County.

"I am very excited and grateful to have signed a professional contract with Orange County Soccer Club,” said Coleman. “I want to thank God, my family, friends, and coaches for their support through this journey. I would also like to thank Orange County for this great opportunity. I am excited for the season and can’t wait to get started.”

“We are excited to add Kevin, a talented and energetic winger to our roster,” said OCSC General Manager Oliver Wyss. “He is the kind of young player that will develop in our structure and flourish under the guidance of our coaching staff.”
