BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Steel FC spoiled Legion FC’s inaugural home opener that saw a BBVA Compass Field-record sellout crowd of 5,807 on hand in Birmingham. Legion FC went closest to opening the score before the break as Daigo Kobayashi’s header went just wide of the right post, but Steel FC struck eight minutes into the second half as Kacper Przybylko put home his own rebound after a corner kick had been half-cleared by the hosts. Zach Zandi added Bethlehem’s second on his professional debut in the 68th minute with the former Reading United AC standout in USL League Two curling home a finish to the right corner from 25 yards, and that wrapped up the points for the visitors as Birmingham was unable to mount a comeback.
