From penalty saves to long-range denials, there were some top stops on opening weekend, which gets your vote?

The opening week of the 2022 USL Championship season produced some outstanding goalkeeping performances, including a remarkable four penalty kick saves to tie a single-day league record on the opening day of the campaign. We’ve picked out five of the best stops for the USL Championship Fans’ Choice Save of the Week presented by Select, you get to choose which one will take the honor.

Voting runs through Friday, March 18 at 12 p.m. ET.

USL Championship Fans’ Choice Save of the Week – Week 1

Nathan Steinwascher (DET) - #SAvDET, 3/12/22: Steinwascher marked his USL Championship debut with a stellar five-save performance, including a first-half penalty kick denial of San Antonio FC’s PC on a shot to the left corner.

Vicente Reyes (ATL) - #LOUvATL, 3/12/22: The 18-year-old Academy product produced an outstanding reflex save to palm away a first-time finish by LouCity midfielder Corben Bone during the first half at Lynn Family Stadium.

Matt VanOekel (BHM) - #BHMvTBR, 3/13/22: A Championship All-League selection a season ago, VanOekel preserved a point for Legion FC with a great diving save to keep out a long-range strike from Tampa Bay’s Jake Areman.

Cristian Bonilla (SA) - #SAvDET, 3/12/22: The Colombian shot-stopper recorded a shutout in his debut for San Antonio including this sharp low save on a shot by Detroit City’s Deklan Wynn that came through traffic.

Elliot Panicco (IND) - #LDNvIND, 3/12/22: Panicco marked his debut for Indy with an excellent save on a penalty kick by Loudoun United FC’s Jackson Hopkins that was directed low to the left corner of the net.
